That Kiteboard Couple
Welcome, We Are
"That Kiteboard Couple"
We discovered kiteboarding & totally FLEW IN LOVE with the sport! ;)
While both extremely active, there was never a sport we enjoyed equally as much & enjoyed together! Kiteboarding immediately became that sport! It's exhilarating beyond words & highly addictive!
There is no feeling like that of the kite pulling you as you glide across the water! Our closest kite friends are as "over the top" with it as we are! There are worse habits to find yourself chasing than wind, so we totally approve!
We went all in, bought a "kite bus" to haul us & all of our gear around to our favorite kite spots.
We live in the Florida Panhandle. If it's windy in our area, you'll find us on the water somewhere!
We are often asked how y'all can find & follow us. We get it, when we first saw kiteboarding we were enamored, quite literally could not get enough! Actually, that's true today as well, but now we FLY!
To showcase the cool photos & videos y'all graciously share with us, we created this page as well as social media accounts! Hang on tight, we are kinda fast paced! :).
We are often asked how we keep the kites from taking us away & how much strength it takes to hang on to them. Funny thing is, before we learned to kite, we wondered the same thing! BUT - we of course had to see for ourselves. ;)
The kite is attached to a harness, generally worn around your waist, which is where the pull is coming from. There are "un-hooked" tricks but you're un-hooked for a very short time!
As far as it taking us away, you've got to be very skilled to jump even 10 feet. When you see someone jumping 20, 30, 40 feet they are skilled & have the timing honed in very well. I suppose there's a certain amount of "guts" involved as well! :). The combination of all the factors necessary to pull off a "big air" jump isn't an easy feat. It certainly won't happen by accident!
We often hear people say they wish they could or would love to learn but feel like their athletic ability or age wouldn't allow it. Our answer is always "you'd be surprised". Kiteboarding is 98% flying the kite. If you can master that, you can kiteboard.
We are not a kite school & do not teach but we know some of the best instructors & shops in different areas. If kiteboarding is on your bucket list, come talk to us on the beach. We'd love to chat & will be happy to point you in the right direction!
